Here are the movie reviews for Lootera:Ratings:4/5 Review By: Taran Adarsh Site:BollywoodHungamaLOOTERA is a captivating tale that reverberates with emotions and passion and encapsulates the highs and lows of a stormy relationship magnificently. Penned with utmost sensitivity and crafted delicately and thoughtfully, the film is akin to a beautiful painting on celluloid! LOOTERA bears the look of a classic. The visuals, the shade palette, the objet d'art, the milieu, the apparel... even the way the characters communicate at an unhurried, easygoing pace and share emotions takes you back to the bygone era. On the whole, LOOTERA is an intrinsically earnest and profoundly heartwarming story that stays in your heart. An absolute must for those who love romantic films or are romantic at heart. This one's a cinematic gem!
Ratings:4/5 Review By: Meena Iyer Site:Times Of India (TOI)In his second outing, post-the critically acclaimed Udaan , Motwane definitely shows an upward graph. He transports you to the '50s effortlessly with his vintage cars, opulent havelis, authentic costumes and terrific performances from his lead cast. Every frame is a picture postcard. Sonakshi, Barun Chanda and Ranveer need special mention. However, be suitably warned; the old-world aura and the languid pace are not for the young and restless. Note: You may find this film boring if state-of-the-art, slow romance is not your idea of a movie outing

Ratings:5/5 Review By: Raja Sen Site:RediffEither way, this is a film worth the grandest of larceny. Motwane's direction is so assured and confident that this scarcely feels like his second feature. The script is clearly one he believes in, and the film is resultantly free of false-notes. Even the few moments that feel like narrative missteps turn out to be masterstrokes. And, as exemplified by a breathtaking chase sequence that could result in any number of outcomes, Motwane sides with his story, not with any one of his characters. A film, then, about life, love and leaves. And in the end it comes down to the sort of snow-surrounded tree that you can draw even if you've always had trouble drawing leaves. Magnificent.
Ratings:-- Review By: Sneha May Francis Site:Emirates24by7It’s raw. It’s understated. It’s intensely heart-wrenching. Vikramaditya Motwane’s poignant tale of deceit, betrayal, honour and love, takes us on a deeply emotional journey. It’s remarkable how one-film-old Motwane manages to create such an exquisite masterpiece without ever trying too hard. Vikramaditya Motwane’s ‘Lootera’ volatile love story is unlike what we’ve ever seen before Truly worth a standing ovation.
Ratings:4/5 Review By: Subash K Jha Site: IANS"Lootera" depicts a doomed passion that is at once invigorating and terrifying. Tenderness trickles out of every pore of this beautifully crafted saga of a love so infinite and so forbidden that it seems to scoff at cruel fate and brutal destiny while carving out a craggy jagged path for the lovers.
Vikramaditya Motwane's storytelling is like a coiled twirling stairway to the heart of his irreconcilable protagonists. The film's muted silences suggest a deep connectivity between pain and love. Sadly, in the midst all the underlying conflicts, poor O. Henry's story is almost forgotten. O. Henry leaf-leitmotif shyly shows up at the end, making a hasty entry not too convincingly.
"Lootera" is a flawed gem filled with moments of glorious emotions. The storytelling shows the hands of a masterly visionary who tends to dither in moments of deep drama. But then there is Sonakshi Sinha, who makes you forget all the blemishes in this unforgettable tragedy.
